Knock Knock

Knock Knock. Who’s there? Ice-Pick Lodge. Ice-Pick Lodge who? No, this isn’t a joke, this is an announcement for Ice-Pick Lodge’s horror stealth action game, which will be creeping onto PS4 on September 10th. Knock Knock is already available on Steam, iOS and Android devices.

Knock Knock was first released in 2013, but for those that haven’t been deep in the woods recently, I’ll explain the core concept. In these woods is a cabin that was used as a laboratory and home for three generations of Lodgers. They know these woods well, so when things start to change, they notice. “Things are missing, noises and rattles [can be heard]. It seems like someone’s made himself in the twilight of rooms, attics, and cellars.” These intruders are known as the Guests.

Each time night falls, the Lodger must wander the rooms of his nightmarish house, and avoid the Guests at all costs. The goal is to “stay awake and sane till dawn.” The only way to do this is to hide from these intruders, watch and listen to everything in the cabin, and try to understand the rules that Knock Knock has set in place. In doing so, gamers might be able to find what the Lodger is looking for, and discover the answer to the questions of the game; “What's going on? Are the Guests real, or are they merely reflections of the Lodger's insomnia? What separates reality from imagination?”

If anyone is looking to add a little more horror to their nights, more information can be found on Knock Knock’s official website, Facebook or Twitter profiles, and even on the Playstation blog announcing this game’s PS4 launch. Things will be going bump – or knock knock – in the night from September 10th.
